Oki’s leg-shaped robot inspires the Leopard office chair

Posted by LuxuryVox on November 5th, 2008

While I was all praise for the innovative Hobart I-Cool seat concept, Herman Miller is the first name that strikes my mind when I think of luxurious office furniture. What’s next? Oki Electric Industry Co Ltd and Okamura Corp have now teamed up for a concept model of an office chair that uses robot technologies employed in Oki’s leg-shaped robot called Robot Leg. The innovative “Leopard” office chair functions very much like the real Robot Leg. When someone sits on this next-gen office chair, the seat moves back to a position where it fits the occupant’s back perfectly and after he/she gets up, the seating surface moves with the movement of the occupant, thereby assisting the occupant to stand up with ease. The seating surface settles down by 25° when someone is sitting on it.

carbon fiber reinforced resin has been used for the seating and the back rest, but [...]

Scheu Analog targets the fairer sex with Diamond Turntable

Posted by LuxuryVox on November 5th, 2008

We, over at BornRich, are big fans of luxury turntables. The one we are talking about today is pink, classy, seductive and simply ladylike. The Diamond turntable from the house of German brand Scheu Analog is aimed straight at the ladies. Touting a pure, sleek silhouette, the Diamond turntable integrates state-of-the-art technology and blends it well with sexy make, thereby offering a perfect combination of aesthetics and technology for DJ loving women. We are short on the technical details for the turntable, but the pink-ish looks alone make it a must-have for the lasses. Although it’s meant for the fairer sex, I won’t mind men going for one. The Diamond turntable is real eye candy and will make you poorer by 3,900 euros.

First Photo of Lagerfeld’s New House in Vermont

As you know we’ve been following the story of flamboyant Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld’s purchase of a historic house in Vermont’s Lake Champlain Islands. Now Vermont independent paper 7 Days has come up with the first photo of the house, above. The 3,800 sq. ft. spread consists of a Greek Revival-style brick house dating to 1850 with a newer addition. “Amenities include a small apple orchard, a couple of pear trees, a paneled library and an awesome view of the lake,” 7 Days reports, noting Lagerfeld paid just over $500,000 for it. They also note that the house, which is “sizable though far from opulent” is basically right on the highway. Last week Lagerfeld staged a Chanel photo shoot there, as we reported he would, with a crew of 40.
